March 11th, 2021 – Water update 4pm

March 11th, 2021 – Water update 4pm

As the day progresses, we believe the water restrictions and DO NOT USE Advisory will be lifted tomorrow morning (Friday March 12th, 2021).   Please continue to follow the DO NOT USE instructions until we have Water Security’s notice that the restrictions are lifted.  We will need to make water overnight to supply you for your own flush and then your regular use.

The Water filling truck will stay in town until 6pm tonight.

To date, since Monday at noon, we have made and flushed over 500,000 gallons of water.  We appreciate your patience, encouragement and compliance with our PDWA Do Not Use order during this unusual situation.  If anyone has any information on the break in at the Water Treatment Plant, please contact the RCMP at 306-267-1830.

Our crew has worked hard long days to get this done quickly and safely, please do not add to their stress and work load by running, flushing and washing everything in the next 24hrs as it will overload the lift station.  We cannot stress enough that you delay any non essential laundry or water processing until Monday March 15th, 2021 to prevent the lift station from becoming overloaded.

We will be asking the properties on the north and south ends of town ONLY to run their outside taps for 4 hours to complete the flushing process.  THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE DO NOT USE ADVISORY IS LIFTED.   This will ensure all the lines are completly flushed.  Once that is complete, all of our processes and completed work will be reviewed by Water Security Agency, in consultation with public health.  When the Town’s Do Not Use Advisory is rescinded, it will be posted here, in mailboxes, with posters and (after 8am) calls to businesses.  Public Health will notify the Health Centre, Coronach School and restaurants.

We have prepared information for all properties for flushing the lines in your home and/or business in Partnership with Public Health.  We will put instructions in all mailboxes, we will post here on the town website and we will put up posters.  Please, if you are able to check on your neighbors that may not receive their mail on Friday morning, or if they do not have access to online information – let the town office know a phone number to reach them at with this update tomorrow.  Town Office 306-267-2150
