Census of Population

Census data are essential for planning a wide range of programs and services, including education, health care, transportation, and labour market programs. These data form a critical foundation for evidence-based decision-making across jurisdictions and help ensure resources are aligned with the needs of Canadians.

Starting in May, Canadian households will receive a census invitation letter in the mail with a Secure Access Code and instructions on how to complete their questionnaire. All information is collected under the authority of the Statistics Act and will be kept strictly confidential.

Please note filling out the census helps obtain revenue for municipalities. The Town’s revenue sharing grant and other grants are based on population. Per capita funding is essential to provide municipal services. We ask that you please fill out the survey at your earliest convenience once it is received.
